Meagher County adopts final FY2025–26 budget and appropriation authority

The Meagher County Board of Commissioners adopted the final budget for fiscal year 2025–26 during the Sept. 9 meeting after a presentation by Finance Officer Jennifer Deems. Vice-Chairman Errol Galt moved to approve the final budget and Commissioner Rod Brewer seconded; the motion passed, and commissioners signed the Appropriation Authority and the Resolution Establishing the Method of Levying Voted Mills as a Dollar Amount and the Resolution Adopting the Final Budget and Appropriation Authority.
The adopted resolution cites Montana Code sections governing the budget process (including Sections 7-6-4020, 7-6-4021, 7-6-4024 and 7-6-4030), authorizes appropriations, establishes legal spending limits at the fund level as set out in FY25.26 Attachment A, sets levies as in Attachment B, and sets salaries/wages as in Attachment C. The resolution states the effective date of the resolution is July 1, 2025, even if adopted after that date.
