Greenwood County commissioners approve hires, payables and payroll

At their Feb. 17 meeting the Greenwood County Commissioners voted unanimously to approve minutes, two Road & Bridge hires, a Driver's License hire in the Treasurer's office, special and regular payables totaling $441,637.31 and payroll of $155,872.79.
The Greenwood County Commissioners met Feb. 17 and voted 5-0 to approve routine business including the Feb. 9, 2026 minutes and multiple personnel and financial items. Motions carried to hire Devin Harris for Noxious Weed at $16.92 per hour and Shad Blackman (CDL) for Road and Bridge at $19.50 per hour; Treasurer Stacie Pearse reported hiring Taylor Campos at $16.00 per hour for a Driver's License position.
The commission approved Special Payables for Feb. 17 in the amount of $8,313.37, Regular Payables for Feb. 20 in the amount of $433,323.94, and Payroll for Feb. 20 in the amount of $155,872.79. All three financial motions passed unanimously with motions and seconds recorded in the meeting minutes. Chair Preston Evenson called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.; the vote tallies and dollar amounts above reflect the motions recorded by commissioners during the session.
