Montour County approves emergency shelter MOU after Danville Suites hotel closure; County Home to be used through Aug. 1

Mr. Lynn moved to approve a memorandum of understanding with AGAPE and The Gatehouse to provide temporary emergency shelter services for tenants displaced by the Danville Suites. Mr. Finn seconded. Mr. Lynn said the County had issued an emergency declaration because the hotel closed abruptly due to mold.
Under the agreement Montour County will provide the former County Home building on Woodbine Lane as housing; AGAPE and The Gatehouse will staff and manage operations. The agreement runs through Aug. 1. The motion passed on a called vote with no roll-call objections recorded in the minutes.
