Commission approves KDOT federal fund exchange totaling $214,037.82 for FFY 2026

The Harvey County Commission on April 14 approved participation in the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) 2026 Federal Fund Exchange program, authorizing the exchange of $214,037.82 in federal-aid funds for state funds available under the program for FFY 2026 (federal fiscal year Oct. 1, 2025 — Sept. 30, 2026).
Road & Bridge Director Jim Meier presented the item, noting the exchange rate for the 2026 program is $0.90 of state funds for every $1.00 of federal obligation authority exchanged. Meier said $214,037.82 is available to Harvey County for exchange, which the packet notes is $75,191.81 more than the prior year. Commissioners voted to approve exchanging $214,037.82 and authorized the County Administrator to sign the exchange agreement.
The packet includes the KDOT request-to-exchange form and the county’s Federal Funds to Be Exchanged figure; the motion was recorded as passing unanimously.
