Harvey County approves $214,037.82 KDOT federal fund exchange for FFY 2026

The Harvey County Commission unanimously approved a Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) federal fund exchange that will make $214,037.82 available to the county for federal fiscal year 2026.
Road & Bridge Director Jim Meier told the commission that the county’s allotment for FFY 2026, which runs Oct. 1, 2025–Sept. 30, 2026, can be exchanged under the state’s master agreement. Under the 90 percent exchange rate, Meier said the county will receive $75,191.81 more than it did in the prior year. Don Schroeder moved to approve exchanging $214,037.82 and authorized County Administrator Kevin Frymire to sign the agreement; Becky Reimer seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The agreement form in the packet shows $237,819.80 in federal funds to be exchanged and an exchange rate of $0.90 state funds per $1.00 federal funds, yielding $214,037.82 in available state funds. Meier also reported local road updates tied to the Road & Bridge program, including completion of a bridge on SE 60th that opened the prior Friday.
