Harvey County commissioners voted Tuesday to award the 2026 parks fish‑stocking contract to Harbin Fish Farms for a net bid of $28,223.25.
Parks Director Kass Miller opened the single bid and told the board the proposal covers specified quantities of channel catfish and largemouth bass at East Park, West Park and Camp Hawk on three stocking dates. "The bid amount is about $600 less than the amount budgeted," Miller said during the opening.
Commissioner Becky Reimer moved to accept the Harbin Fish Farms bid and Commissioner Don Schroeder seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The contract includes contingency language allowing the county to forgo stocking if lake water levels are too low and requires seven days' advance notice for cancellation.
The award follows the county's March bid process; county staff said funding will be adjusted as needed to ensure stockings do not exceed the Parks' fish‑stocking budget.
