Governance committee sets election dates and introduces assistance dog for three schools

The Governance, Health & Administration Committee set key election dates (early voting begins Feb. 5; offsite early voting starts March 2; Election Day March 17) and introduced an assistance dog, Morrell, to be used in Eagle Ridge, Colona and Rockridge schools.
Chairwoman Carla Enburg reported that County Clerk Karen Kinney provided an election timeline: vote-by-mail and early voting at the county clerk's office begin Feb. 5, four offsite early voting locations open March 2, and Election Day is March 17. Separately, Regional Superintendent Tammy Muerhoff introduced Morrell, an assistance dog intended to support students at three schools (Eagle Ridge, Colona and Rockridge).
The committee also considered proclamations and insurance broker proposals and forwarded the GVI proposal to Finance & Personnel for additional review. Routine reports were approved at the committee meeting recorded Jan. 12.
