County Engineer Dan Dahlke updated commissioners on road crew activity and projects and sought approval to complete paperwork with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to extend the Wolf Creek Road cleanup completion date to June 30, 2026; the commission approved the paperwork.
Dahlke presented recommendations to fill vacant Road Worker I positions naming seven candidates: Jamie Blackburn, Hunter Brown, Johnathan Reynolds, Drake Sanderson, Lane Taylor and Dennis Watts. Commissioners voted to approve the hires; a letter will be attached as part of the minutes (Attachment #2).
Why it matters: the NRCS extension recognizes weather-related delays from tornado damage and the hires restore workforce capacity for county road maintenance.
Next steps: paperwork for the NRCS extension will be completed; hiring letters and personnel paperwork will be processed and attached to the official minutes.
