Duval County accepts $35,000 veterans transportation grant and approves retroactive van-driver contract

Duval County Commissioners on Nov. 10 accepted a FY 2025-2026 grant for Transportation of Veterans in Highly Rural Areas (CFDA 64.035) in the amount of $35,000.00. The court recorded acceptance of the award for the coming fiscal year.
At the same meeting the court approved a separate Veterans Van Driver contract, retroactive to Sept. 15, 2025, appointing Ruben Hughes as the driver. Commissioner Martin M. Perez moved to approve the contract and the grant acceptance; Commissioner Adalberto M. Vera seconded both motions and they passed unanimously.
