Board approves shared driveway agreement with Legacy Meats for Lamont shed

Legacy Meats requested to extend concrete onto county property to improve drainage; county attorneys drafted a driveway-improvement and maintenance agreement that requires the property owner to pay for and maintain the concrete and that releases the county from present and future maintenance obligations.
The property owner signed and notarized the agreement and the department recommended chair signature and board approval. Supervisors approved the agreement by voice vote and authorized the board chair to sign. Staff said the county benefits from the concrete extension at no cost to the county and that the material appears thick enough to withstand truck traffic to limit concerns about damage by county equipment.
