Staff said a slab-on-grade design for two buildings would require about 8,600 cubic yards of fill, which at approximately 12 cubic yards per dump truck equates to roughly 720 truckloads.
Board members and staff discussed design alternatives that could reduce earthwork, such as pouring footings and using drive-under storage to limit fill. Staff said hiring structural engineers and issuing an RFP for design work will be necessary before contractors will bid on construction.
