The Jackson County Board of Supervisors approved awarding a FY26 pickup purchase to Rotman's for the low responsive bid of $44,178 after staff revised the specifications to a standard trim to shorten lead time.
The public works official explained the previous specification required a special build with long lead times and that a standard-trim truck would both be cheaper and quicker. "We changed our spec basically, geared just the standard trim, just what's widely available on the lot," the public works official said. The county received two bids and selected the low responsive offer; the board approved the purchase by voice vote after a motion by Committee member Mike Sinus and a second from Committee member Nim Flagle.
Staff told the board they will re-issue a short bidding window if a second replacement truck is needed and that trade-in values will be based on Kelley Blue Book trade-in estimates to be fair to all departments.
