Meagher County says developer must pay planner review costs for two-lot subdivision

Clerk and Recorder Liv West told the Meagher County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 4 that Kristie Heinemann had submitted an estimate for the county’s planner to review a proposed two-lot subdivision. West said the county contracts planning services rather than employing a full-time planner and that the planner’s estimated fee was “very high,” according to the meeting record.
After discussing the estimate, the commissioners agreed the county would not cover any portion of the planner’s cost because taking on the expense could set a precedent for future subdivisions.
