Cemetery board reports reduced sexton hours, $75,000 building bid and $5,000 grant application

Kathy Palmer, Cemetery Board Chair, told commissioners that Cemetery Sexton Randy Hardin's hours will be halved starting next month and that Hardin will handle snow removal at county facilities including the courthouse, ambulance barn, library, cemetery and airport. "Hardin's hours will be half starting next month," Palmer said during her report.
Palmer said Hardin received a verbal bid of $75,000 for a proposed new cemetery building, excluding the cost of the well. She described the proposed building as 20 feet by 60 feet with a 10-foot height, one garage door, one standard entry door and four windows. Palmer also said the cemetery board has applied for the Camas Grant ($5,000) to raise funds for a tractor and is researching other potential grants.
