The Macon County Commission approved several personnel actions during its Sept. 18 meeting and continuation sessions. Commissioner Edward Huffman moved to approve completion of probation for Frank Lee, Emergency Management Director, with a 3% salary adjustment; Commissioner Andrew D. Thompson Jr. seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. The commission also approved the promotion of Timothy Phillips to Investigator and accepted completion of his probation in a motion by Commissioner Robert M. Berry.
The commission approved two hires for the Macon County Sheriff's Department: Ryan Butler as a jailor and Rateshia Crawford as a part-time jailor, both motions moved by Commissioner Berry and seconded by Commissioner Robinson. These items were recorded as routine personnel actions in the minutes and carried by unanimous vote. The minutes list staff present including Susan B. Thomas (Finance Director) and Gertrude S. Benjamin (Personnel Director/Treasurer), who file personnel records and payroll adjustments.
