On April 9, 2007 the commission debated pending state legislation (Senate Bill 92) that would alter distribution of bingo revenues. Commissioner Miles Robinson introduced a resolution outlining the county's long history with Macon County Greyhound Park (Victoryland) and the importance of charity revenue distributed to local organizations; the commission voted to adopt the resolution, with a recorded Nay by Commissioner Thompson.
Separately, at a later meeting counsel informed commissioners of correspondence and a proposed settlement regarding a use-tax claim involving Victoryland. The county accepted a proposed settlement audit for tax year 2004 and authorized the county attorney to proceed with the settlement discussions and required documentation.
