Council heard requests from dispatch and public safety staff to purchase an assistive dispatching module and a new logging recorder after repeated failures of the existing recorder. Jennifer Jones explained the assistive dispatch piece fills a prior gap by transcribing radio traffic to match the phone transcription capability already purchased; she told the council "Our logging recorder has failed us 3 times this year. We would like to not see that happen anymore and go ahead and get this one." The council approved the municipal order by motion.
Staff also described moving the records management portion of their Tyler system into the cloud to complete a wider CAD-to-cloud deployment, noting this will enable public safety analytics and easier reporting. Council discussed questions and, after motions and seconds, approved the Tyler records upgrade and the AT&T phone/backup system update to provide dual licenses and mobile continuity for 911 operations. The orders were passed by voice vote and recorded as approved.
