Council approves triathlon, charity 5K and college move‑in street closures

Ava Calloway, who identified herself as chapter president for Phi Mu Delta Eta at Georgetown College, described the 5K fundraiser and said it would donate proceeds to the Children's Miracle Network at UK Golisano. "This is basically a program where we come together and hold the 5K, and then we donate all the proceeds to Children's Miracle Network Hospital, specifically Golisano Children's Hospitals at UK," she said. The council moved, seconded and approved the permit for Sept. 19. Finally, a Georgetown College representative requested street closures for freshman move‑in on Aug. 15; the council approved the requested street closures and use of city barricades.
