Leon County OKs opioid settlement funds to buy AEDs for county buildings and vehicles

On Feb. 9 the Leon County Commissioners Court authorized allocation of Texas Opioid Abatement Settlement funds to purchase Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and related accessories for county buildings and law enforcement vehicles. Commissioner Kyle Workman moved the authorization and Commissioner T. J. Foley seconded; the motion carried.
The approved use includes batteries, electrode pads and related supplies. The motion directed the County Auditor to process payment in accordance with county purchasing policies; no specific dollar amount or quantity of AEDs was stated in the meeting minutes.
