Auditor moves budget amendment public hearing to Sept. 9 to fund courthouse server replacement

The county auditor told the board Aug. 19 that the courthouse AS/400 server has reached end of life and can no longer receive security patches; tape drive hardware is obsolete. Because the replacement was not budgeted, the auditor asked to move the previously scheduled Sept. 2 public hearing on a budget amendment to Sept. 9 at 9 a.m. so the county can include funds for a new server.
Supervisors voted to rescind the Sept. 2 hearing and set Sept. 9, 2025 at 9 a.m. as the new date for a public hearing to amend the FY25‑26 budget. IT staff told the board that vendor discussions with IBM and solution options are ongoing; staff said they will provide cost information ahead of the public hearing. The board asked staff to notify the public and reissue required notices for the revised hearing date.
