Jackson County treasurer reports $14.15 million reconciled balance and stronger-than-expected fee revenue

Gerlach reported the reconciled funds balance for June at "$14,147,007.80" and explained how the office balances daily transactions and invested accounts to match auditors' ledgers.
Gerlach also told the board that auto-registration and title-fee changes increased 6-month revenue: she reported vehicle transactions were up about 58% compared with the prior period and noted other fee lines (title fees, security interest fees) had increased collections. Supervisors asked for comparative end-of-year reports; Gerlach said she can provide a longer end-of-year departmental comparison to indicate whether the county stayed within budget after accounting for jail costs and other variances.
