County accepts TSIP portable signal trailers; DOT reimbursement capped at $50,000

The Jackson County Board of Supervisors accepted final project work related to FY26 Transportation Safety Improvement Program (TSIP) portable traffic-signal trailers so the county can pursue DOT reimbursement.
County engineering staff said the trailers were delivered, tested in coordination with Cedar and Jones counties and deployed for trial use. "This 1 is in the amount of 50,000 since the stoplight trailers were more than the grant award," the engineer said when explaining the reimbursement cap; supervisors approved project acceptance so the county can submit the DOT payment request. Staff added that the counties will need to work out a sharing and rotation plan for seasonal highway patching and other uses.
