The Brooks County Commissioners' Court approved a sequence of budget line-item transfers at its June 3 special session. Commissioners authorized moving $19,500 from the County Medical Insurance line to professional accounting/auditing fees, approved transferring $12,750 from Contract Labor to an Appointed Official line (to be created by the auditor), and granted multiple transfers submitted by Commander Esparza to cover overtime and related costs. All motions passed unanimously by roll call vote.
Other transferred amounts included $12,100 moved from the Jailers line to Overtime and $3,000 moved from Prisoner Medical Expense to Repairs-Maintenance Buildings. The county auditor clarified that a new line item must be created administratively for the Appointed Official transfer, and the court recorded the transfers as approved.
