City manager says contested property remains city-owned as residents raise concerns about annexation work

A resident asked whether the property had already been sold to Amazon or another buyer; City Manager Nichols responded: "It is not sold. If you look it up on the Butler County Auditor site, it is still City of Trenton owned property." That response followed a series of public comments asserting the city had been negotiating with potential buyers and that land transactions had been discussed earlier.
Separately, Michael Gorman described contractors tearing up crops adjacent to the city or county property that he said were taking soil samples for an electrical run linked to a parcel proposed for annexation. "There was a contractor tearing down a bunch of our crops in the fields...they said that they were doing soil samples for a some type of line," Gorman said, and he asked the city to investigate reimbursement for the damage. City staff said they would follow up with affected residents.
