County health nurse reports high vaccination volume, $2,000 contribution to Homemaker program

County Health Nurse Eva Kerr told commissioners that July saw a high volume of children coming in for school vaccinations and that the health office continues to send vaccine reminders. Kerr also reported on public-health staffing and event response related to the Red Ants Pants event, saying the contracted sanitarians from Southwest Montana Consulting, Inc. left Sunday morning and that Kerr returned to the site to manage vendor issues; the consultant acknowledged the oversight.
Kerr said Heather Nicholson from Area IV Agency on Aging informed the county of additional available funding that resulted in a $2,000 contribution to the Homemaker/Respite Program. Kerr reported the Homemaker fund now totals $14,675 and the Respite fund $8,350. Kerr, Finance Officer Jennifer Deems and the commissioners reviewed the FY25-26 health nurse budget during the meeting.
