Library reports 116 children in summer program, seeks staff pay review

Library Co-Director Rachel Wahlstrom told the Meagher County Board of Commissioners that the library’s Summer Reading Program concluded in July with 116 children participating and 85 attending the final day. Wahlstrom said the library has updated its logo, website and materials and will roll out new library cards and letterhead to reflect the change.
Wahlstrom and Co-Director Shannon Washburn said they will resume Story Time and start visits to daycares this fall. They also noted continuing operational needs: the state discontinued its Wi‑Fi hotspot program at the end of June 2025 and the county library is maintaining six hotspots for community use. Finance Officer Jennifer Deems reviewed the FY25-26 library budget with the directors; Wahlstrom raised the possibility of salary increases for library staff to be considered in the upcoming budget process.
