The Cherokee County School Board of Trustees voted unanimously July 27 to approve the board's electronic-participation policy and to approve personnel recommendations presented by Dr. Fitzpatrick.
At the start of the meeting, the chair introduced a request to adopt board policy "b d e m" on public participation and noted Trustee Sarette planned to participate electronically. Trustee Cody Cash moved to "approve the use of electronic participation, policy d, EDM," a motion that was seconded and carried without opposition. After entering and returning from an executive session that covered personnel and related matters, the board approved the personnel recommendations Dr. Fitzpatrick presented.
"These are my thoughts," Trustee Cody Cash said during the meeting, prefacing remarks that he described as personal and not representing the board. The chair thanked staff and trustees for their work in advancing the personnel items and confirmed the votes were unanimous.
The board did not list dissenting votes. The meeting record shows the policy approval, the agenda approval, and the personnel slate were all approved by unanimous voice vote.
