Commission defers hiring new telecommunicator, will reevaluate in 12 months

Rhonda Braudis presented staffing figures, saying the center currently staffs 15 full‑time and one part‑time employee (not including the director). Communications Lead Caitlan Reineke described improved customer service when four staff are on her shift, and Communications Supervisor Tiffany Eibs described staffing patterns and how workers rotate calls when volumes rise. Braudis said the additional role would help maintain coverage and improve service during busy hours and that this would be "the last position added until consolidation in the next 5-10 years."
Dale Thompson moved to delay hiring for 12 months to await levy information and reassess staffing needs; Madeleine Welton seconded. The roll-call vote was unanimous and the motion carried. The commission requested that staff continue tracking call volumes and budget impacts and report back at the reevaluation date.
