The Planning Commission tabled RZ 26-02, a request from Paul and Cathy Moses to rezone 10+/- acres from AG-40 to RE to enable a 5-acre split, until applicants provide a survey sketch and appear before the board.
Staff outlined the background that the property falls inside the county’s Urban Growth Area and that staff had not received a sketch or a representative. Commissioners and staff discussed alternatives, including using a lot split instead of creating a flag or "flagship" lot, and stressed the need for sufficient access for emergency vehicles and a turnaround.
Chair Jeff Varner said he was "not a huge fan of flag lots," and Commissioner Jim Ralston recommended tabling the matter until the owners submit a sketch and more information. The motion to table RZ 26-02 for 30 days carried 6-0 (Francis motion, Kehler second).
