"For the last hundred and fifty years, men and women from Leesburg stood by day and night ready to answer the call," Mirra said, summing up the department's legacy. He noted that the city limits have grown to more than 25 square miles and, through interagency agreements, the department assists across nearly 100 square miles, underscoring the expanded responsibilities professional firefighters now shoulder. The program also previewed a follow-up conversation with Deputy Chief Ryan Henry about ongoing operations and future priorities.
