L and M Financial Services named Hoffman Estates' first dementia-friendly business partner

Monica Saavedra, identified in the program as the director of Health and Human Services, presented a dementia-friendly business partner window cling and a plaque on behalf of the village. Saavedra said the recognition signifies that the business has "undergone training and... are familiar with the signs of dementia, how to respond compassionately, and also are an inclusive business." Representatives of L and M described personal family experiences caring for older relatives and framed the company's senior life consulting as an extension of that work.
Village leaders praised the partnership and said they hope the example of L and M Financial Services will encourage other businesses to pursue dementia-friendly training and practices throughout the community.
