Trustee Gary Stanton, identified in the program as deputy mayor, also welcomed participants, encouraging runners and thanking the village for permitting the use of streets for the race.
The event included a ceremonial performance of the national anthem by Jim Carr Neilson before the run, and a lineup of community activities at Bell Works following the races.
Organizers described the festival as a village-supported community event that brings together local businesses, volunteers and municipal services to operate the course and provide post-race programming.
