Alcester resident warns ambulance service is stretched thin, urges volunteers

She described the roster as “2 nurses and 2 EMTs” and said drivers are also in short supply.
The volunteer outlined practical ways residents could help, including taking ride‑alongs, completing certification classes or assisting with paperwork and station upkeep. Council members acknowledged the problem and asked staff to keep recruiting in mind; one council member said they would “keep our eyes and ears open.” The council did not take formal action during the public comment time but signaled interest in the volunteer’s plea and in including the issue in follow‑up conversations with staff and partner agencies.
