County approves $10,000 payment for extra milling in Galva; fuel system to be offline June 16–23

The McPherson County Commission approved payment not to exceed $10,000 to Weber Road Solutions LLC for additional milling work completed at the City of Galva and discussed several public-works operational updates, including a planned fuel-system outage.
Public works director (speaker 4) said the county milled railroad right-of-way on Main Street at the City of Galva’s request and that the additional milling invoice will be paid by the county and later billed to Galva for reimbursement: "We are gonna pay the invoice with Weber Road Solutions for $10,000 if you guys approve that," he said. Commissioner (speaker 2) moved to approve the invoice with a not-to-exceed cap of $10,000; the motion carried by voice vote.
Director (speaker 4) also said the county received a Safe Streets for All grant back from reviewers and plans to review the grant in a work session before deciding whether to accept and sign the grant next week. He warned that the county fuel system will be down June 16–23; staff arranged to fuel county vehicles at MKC during the outage and discussed employee ID and vehicle-number procedures to ensure proper billing.
The director noted recent denials of three bridge-grant applications and provided a schedule preview for milling and overlay work on county roads, including plans to start work on Highway 319. Commissioners asked staff to follow up with MKC on card and vehicle-identification procedures to streamline fueling during the outage.
