Commission approves $40,720.51 extension for courthouse and law-enforcement servers

Jeff, the county’s IT representative, explained that the servers supporting the courthouse and the joint law enforcement center are running toward replacement and that global supply-chain issues for chipsets and memory have increased uncertainty. He recommended purchasing a support and licensing extension to push replacement timelines to July 2029 (courthouse) and December 2030 (law enforcement) and to cover hardware failure support during that period.
The commission approved a motion to award an extension through Eagle Technologies not to exceed $40,720.51. "This quote is for $40,720.51 and covers hardware failures of both servers as well as licensing and services for a period of time," Jeff said. Commissioners discussed budgeting options for future replacement costs and the advisability of reserving funds in the general fund or capital equipment lines. The motion passed by voice vote.
