Butler County Community Development Director Toby Stewart presented RZ 26-01, a request by Wayne and Lois Heorman Trust to rezone approximately 20 acres at 3551 SW Prairie Creek Rd. from AG-40 to Residential Estates (RE) to allow a 2-acre lot around the existing home and keep the remaining 18 acres in agriculture. Planning Commission recommended approval 6-0, but the Commission received at least one public opposition comment and chose to table the item for further consideration.
Bill King of 3663 SW Prairie Creek Rd. told the Board he wanted the land to remain AG-40; the minutes record his request. Following discussion, Commissioner Jeff Masterson moved to table Resolution No. 26-02 on RZ 26-01 until Feb. 10, 2026; Commissioner Darren Jackson seconded and the motion carried 5-0. The minutes do not record additional conditions or proposed amendments at this meeting.
