Public Works Director Curtis Mader told the Board that the landfill lost approximately half of its waste intake after Wastelink/Air Capital was sold to Waste Connections, affecting expected revenue. Mader said the landfill’s current D6 dozer has been rebuilt twice and is not recommended for another rebuild; staff recommended soliciting bids for a replacement D6 to maintain operations but did not seek or receive approval to buy at this meeting.
Separately, the Board approved payment of a Foley Tractor invoice for $12,380.63 to repair a compactor that was out of service. Commissioner Dan Woydziak moved to approve the payment and the motion carried 5‑0. Mader also discussed potential spending cuts the Landfill could pursue to offset lost revenue from the change in hauler contracts.
