Carter also described scheduling and forecasting tools the district uses, identified a need to add a second middle‑school agriculture class because of growing enrollment, and reported that summer work will include irrigation upgrades and removal of a fallen tree that sits on district property. He said he will approach the city about possibly splitting off a small parcel and exploring whether placing a tiny home there might be feasible to offset maintenance costs.
Board members asked staff to provide more detail on graduation‑rate metrics (third‑grade reading, 8th‑grade math, ninth‑grade on‑track and cohort grad rates) and to bring a fuller report to the August meeting. The superintendent said he will prepare those data and follow up with staff for reporting.
