Butler County commissioners adopted Resolution No. 26-01 on Jan. 6 to establish rules and procedures for public comments during county meetings. County Administrator Will Johnson and County Counselor Terrence Huelskamp presented a three-page draft policy and a one-page summary intended for use at the podium; the policy limits speakers to three minutes and allows the chair to grant extensions when necessary.
Commissioner Dan Woydziak moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Marc Murphy seconded; the motion carried 5-0. Staff said the summary version would be available at the podium and the full policy would serve as the authoritative reference for questions about the rules.
