County approves $552,628 purchase of two tandem dump trucks to bolster winter response

The Butler County Commission approved a purchase of two complete tandem dump trucks from Truck Center Companies for a total of $552,628 ($276,314 per unit) to replace 2011 Freightliners and to address equipment shortages following the loss of a Kenworth tandem truck. Public Works Director Curtis Mader said the purchases align with the county’s equipment replacement plan and capital improvement plan.
Commissioner Dan Woydziak moved to approve the bid and Commissioner Marc Murphy seconded; the vote was 5-0. Staff told commissioners that delivery of the trucks is expected between mid-January and early February.
