District data: majority of students show typical midyear growth in reading and math

District staff presented midyear assessment results covering DIBELS and STAR metrics across grades K—6. Presenters described the visualization key (blue=above benchmark, green=at grade, yellow=below) and said many grades show gains between fall and midyear testing; overall, roughly two-thirds of students are demonstrating "typical growth" on these district assessments.
"We have 70 percent of our students showing typical growth from where they started, beginning of the year to that midyear point," a presenter said while walking the board through Star data and grade-level trends (SEG 784—786). Staff flagged 3rd grade for additional review where midyear performance slipped relative to earlier grades and suggested individualized follow-up for outlier students. The presentation also highlighted notable individual gains: one 1st grader exhibited about 247% growth and one 6th grader about 257% growth between assessments (SEG 906—722).
Staff said the district will continue to use this data to inform interventions, to populate forecasting sheets used for master-schedule planning, and to prioritize elective offerings based on student demand.
