The Butler County Commission approved a $14,975 contract with Morrow Exteriors and Glass to install a framed-glass wall on the Judicial Building’s second floor. County Administrator Will Johnson said the second floor’s high ceiling allows heat to rise and the new wall will "block off the second floor so the RTUs will not fight each other," reducing utility costs and wear on rooftop units.
Commissioner Kelly Herzet moved to accept the Morrow Exteriors bid and Commissioner Jeff Masterson seconded; the motion passed unanimously, 5-0. Staff told commissioners the enclosure is intended to make temperature regulation on the second floor more efficient.
