On Jan. 12 the Claymont City Board of Education approved Superintendent Brian Rentsch’s recommended personnel actions (items A–O). Approvals included designating Aubrey Somers as an early 2026 graduate, granting unpaid leave to Alexis Stallman from Feb. 24 through April 21, 2026, hiring Samuel Schafer as a full-time preferred substitute custodian at $15 per hour effective Jan. 6, 2026, and approving Brandy Bishop as a certified ELA substitute at $90 per day retroactive to Jan. 5–9, 2026.
The board also approved a $498 partial mentor payment to Ian Meiser, the appointment of district staff to professional development and calendar committees at $27 per hour (listing Holly Lloyd, Kendra Host, Jorjann Harding, Alisha Mahaffey, Veronica Cottrell, Lisa Davis, Derrick Rausch, Kelsi Barnhart and Jodie Miles), volunteer approval for Joyce Mehok, and a list of classified substitutes pending credentialing. The personnel package was approved by unanimous roll call.
