Parks and maintenance staff informed the council that a water line blow occurred beneath the pump house at the municipal golf course, leaving a cavity beneath the pump foundation and prompting closure of the onsite bathrooms.
The parks speaker (Speaker 7) showed photographs and said the hole and deteriorated piping required more than temporary fixes: "We shut the bathrooms down for the year out there... we're not gonna use them," the speaker said, and described discussing fill and possible contractor work. Staff suggested several remedies: targeted rock fill, redesigning suction piping, replacing pumps and motors, or rebuilding a smaller pump house and potentially reusing the septic system. Members said they expected the work to be addressed in the upcoming budget cycle and asked for preliminary costs and a plan to present during budget deliberations.
Council expressed concern but noted immediate operations had been maintained (water was restored by a contractor) and asked staff to bring estimates and options for repair or replacement before the budget is finalized.
