The Alcester City Council approved an amendment to the 4th Street water-main project budget that reallocates existing construction funds to pay for engineering overages.
Paul, the engineering presenter, explained the proposed internal reallocation and said it was intended to avoid requesting additional money while covering anticipated design and on-site oversight hours. "It's a no cost change order, just reallocating things," he told the council.
A council member moved to approve the amendment, a colleague seconded, and the motion carried by voice vote. Staff will report back with finalized bids and confirm any scope adjustments depending on bid outcomes and coordination with other projects such as the water tower recoat.
