Ephraim McDowell outlines scaled-back $28M master plan to Boyle County Fiscal Court

Vice President Nicholas Spoonmore of Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center briefed Boyle County Fiscal Court on a revised master facility plan reduced to $28 million. Spoonmore said the plan concentrates on procedural space, emergency department renovations and adding additional beds; he also noted the helipad would be relocated to the south wing of the campus and a new main entrance near the emergency department is under consideration.
Spoonmore described community-benefit activities the hospital provides, including blood drives, Healthy Heart lunches and financial assistance programs, and noted the hospital’s participation in the 340B pharmaceutical program. No formal action was taken by the court on the master plan during the meeting.
