On the recommendation of Superintendent Brian Rentsch, the board approved unpaid maternity leave for employee Markie Tarleton beginning March 9, 2026 for the remainder of the school year. The board also approved Anna Debolt as a preferred teacher substitute retroactive to Feb. 23, 2026 at a daily rate of $115, and granted one-year limited contracts to Kayla Cromley (educational aide) and Dan Kinsey (bus floater) pending credentialing.
Other approvals included up to 30 extended service days for Jasmine Russell for the 2025–2026 school year, approval of Lily Specht as a student teacher for 2026–2027 with mentors Staci Dunn and Shannon Viebranz, and approval to use Claymont City school buses for YMCA summer programming with all costs charged to the YMCA. The superintendent’s personnel package was approved by roll call vote.
