At the April 13 meeting Superintendent Brian Rentsch presented the district's consolidation discussion, referencing the district budget, property tax reform, funds from the 2020 levy and ESSER dollars as context for facility planning.
Rentsch listed pending state legislation the district is tracking, including HB 455 (deregulation), HB 625 (student athlete mobility), HB 661 (name, image and likeness), SB 326 (computer science), SB 19 (intervention plans), SB 34 (historical displays act), SB 328 (education workforce initiative), SB 311 (education omnibus), and SB 144 (educator licensure bands). He said the administration has met with an architect about a possible high school addition and asked whether to proceed to a design set so planning is complete if the board decides to continue; board members agreed to continue with the process.
Ms. Campbell and Mrs. Host contributed to the discussion about consolidation and budgeting. The superintendent framed the next step as moving forward on design so the district would be positioned to act if financing and other conditions align.
