Task force flags zoning and property-classification issues for ordinance

Vern Tuss presented printed maps of developmental districts and told members the maps are available on the county Planning Board page. Carl Hamming explained available overlays—commission districts, fire districts and development/zoning districts—and said the development district map acts as the county's effective zoning map.
Members said the draft ordinance appears to address residential areas but not rural or agricultural properties. Suggestions included using lot size to determine classification, explicitly defining urban and rural areas, and limiting the number of animals by property size. Task force members were asked to bring specific classification ideas to the next meeting.
