Jeremy, speaking for the airport, told the committee a hangar under construction needs a taxi lane connection and asked the county to transfer up to $40,000 from airport capital contingency to develop the lane; he said two bids were received and staff will select the contractor based on materials and expected longevity. “We’re asking up to $40,000 to develop this taxi lane on the airport,” Jeremy said, adding that any unused funds would be returned to the airport contingency account.
On Hangar 311, Jeremy reported the hangar was sold by Clint White to Lucas Johnson and that the airport board waived its right of first refusal; the new owner requested a 20‑year lease and the committee forwarded that recommendation to the full board. The committee also reviewed and approved a new perimeter fence banner policy designed to rent advertising space to Jackson County businesses and local nonprofits; staff said Blackman Charter Township and the county attorney reviewed the policy with no objections. Commissioners expressed support for the banner policy as a local revenue source and a way to promote county businesses.
All three items were forwarded to the full board with recommendations of approval; votes at the committee level were unanimous.
